Comedy series for BBC Radio 4. Partly improvised spoof documentary featuring Valerie Singleton as the main presenter, MFS, Andy Taylor and Jessica Martin as her research team and all other characters apart from the weekly guest who played the member of the public.
Each week, Valerie Singleton and her team would invite a member of the public to handle a difficult and unusual job; air traffic controller, surgeon, Middle East crisis negotiator, Wimbledon Tennis contestant or Mir space station salvager. These completely inexpert, indeed, untrained members of the public would be given a free hand to have a go simply because they claimed "I can do that!". The results were, usually, catastrophic, if not fatal.MFS plays Prof Totteridge, Middle Eastern History expert, who is being asked his advice on how to solve the Middle East crisis. TOP
